About the Role

Maple House is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support children with Autism or similar needs, social, emotional and mental health difficulties and similar needs.

We are seeking to appoint a level 2 or level 3 Teaching Assistant in the first instance with future roles becoming available for those with Level 1 or seeking a future career in education.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:
• A desire to work with pupils on the autistic spectrum and those with SEMH needs including emotional based school avoidance due to high levels of anxiety.
• A willingness to learn more about Autism and other diagnosed Special Educational Needs.
• The ability to follow and implement key pieces of information relating to pupils, such as Positive Behaviour Support Plans including Individual Pupil Risk Assessments, One Page Pupil Profiles, Individual Learning Plans and Transition Support Plans.
• Be flexible to the needs of the school with a positive and supportive attitude towards the children and the school as we grow
• Their ability to work using own initiative, and work effectively as part of a team promoting inclusion and support for all.
• How they communicate clearly and effectively with pupils and colleagues including through the use of IT systems
• The desire to take ownership of tasks.
• The passion and commitment to supporting children and young people with Special Needs.
• Be committed to safeguarding and welfare of our students
• Be supportive and flexible in supporting families and community projects across the school.
